At Mosaic Art Studio, our Water Marbling Workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the ancient art of Ebru, or water marbling. This captivating technique involves creating intricate patterns on the surface of water, which are then transferred onto paper or fabric, resulting in one-of-a-kind designs.

Workshop Overview

  • Projects Available: Participants will create their own marbled designs on paper. For an additional fee, there's an option to print these designs on silk items such as handkerchiefs, twillies, or scarves.
  • Pricing: The standard workshop fee is $35, which includes all basic materials and paper printing. Upgrades for printing on silk items are available at the following additional costs:
    • Silk Handkerchief: $25
    • Silk Twilly: $35
    • Silk Scarf: $50
  • Duration: Workshops typically last between 1 to 2 hours, including time for instruction, practice, and project completion.
  • Age Limit: Children aged 5 and up are welcome to join with parental supervision, making it a fun activity for families.
  • Skill Level: No prior experience is needed. This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to explore a new creative art form.

  • All Materials Provided: We supply all necessary materials for creating your marbled designs. Upgrades for printing on silk items are available for an additional fee.

Workshop Agenda

  1. Introduction: Brief overview of the history and cultural significance of Ebru art.
  2. Demonstration: Watch our instructor create a marbled design on water and explain the techniques.
  3. Hands-On Practice: Enjoy 30-45 minutes to practice and create your own design on paper.
  4. Printing on Silk (Optional Upgrade): Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can choose to print your designs on a silk scarf, handkerchief, or headband for an additional fee.
  5. Setting the Colors: We’ll help you set the colors to keep your design vibrant.
  6. Iron & Finish: Iron your artwork, pack it, and enjoy or share it as a keepsake.
